Lion or lamb? (Part I)

We learned in kindergarten that March often comes in like a lion, but then goes out like a lamb. And then there are those great years where March comes in like a lamb and also goes out like a lamb. Unfortunately, there are also some tricky years when March comes in like a lamb but then goes out like a lion. But the real awful years are when March comes in like a lion and then goes out like a lion!
With all due respect to my mother (who was my kindergarten teacher), that whole lion/lamb thing really doesn't help us much.

Well I just did some research on current Kindergarten curriculum benchmarks and found that the March/Lion/Lamb issue is the first question on the NoChildLeftBehind test. I also recall that Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins devoted an entire chapter to it. I could probably even proof text it in the Bible. So, study up, theology boy - it may be on your orals someday.

Ummm Jackson, I have never heard of the Lion Lamb March thing, could you clarify, or is that part two?

Kindergarten Teacher-

I wouldn't doubt that LaHaye and Jenkins devoted an entire chapter to it, though I imagine that their comments ran more along the lines of: March may come in like a lion, but that lion will first appear real nice like a kindly world leader from Romania, and then we won't know how March will end because the world will end and stuff . . . save the cheerleader, save the world.

Matt-

You must not have attended kindergarten in Iowa, cause that metaphor was shoved down our throats from about Feb. 14th on! And about hearing more about it, I told you everything. Not that helpful is it?

Oh c'mon! It was just harmless bulletin board fodder :)

Groundhog what?...just kidding I have heard of ground hog day and have seen the famous movie with Bill Murray multiple times, though growing up in Florida I did not fully appreciate it.

No wonder you never heard of the lion/lamb metaphor. If you grew up in Florida, I imagine that your Marches came in like a chipmunk or a toad.
