And now for something totally different, Part II

In an effort to break up the monotony of these theological posts, I thought that I would give yet another installment from that brilliant, biting, beautiful poet Dorothy Parker.

"In youth, it was a way I had
To do my best to please,
And change, with every passing lad,
To suit his theories.

"But now I know the things I know,
And do the things I do;
And if you do not like me so,
To hell, my love, with you!"

Or, on a delightfully simple note:

Mrs. McTwitter the babysitter
I think she's a little bit crazy.
She thinks the babysitter
Is supposed to sit upon the baby!

Or how about:

There're too many kids in this tub!
Thers're too many kids in this tub!
I just washed a behind
That I'm sure isn't mine.
There're too many kids in this tub!

By the never to be forgotten Shel Silverstein

Ah yes . . . Shel Silverstein. One of my favorites as well. The man sure domesticated himself over the years. As I recall on the back of "Light in the Attic" he looked like some sort of Neanderthal species. On the back of his last book he looked like a distant cousin of Ben Kingsley. C'est la vie.

I think my favorite was the Missing Piece, though I cannot to my shame remember its contents exactly.
